5 Things Homeowner’s Insurance Companies Don’t Want Us To Know

To keep us fully informed, the following are five things Homeowner’s Insurance companies don’t want us to know:

1. We Can Also Have A “Home-based Emergency Plan.”

This one seems self-explanatory, but it is a truth that many people are unaware of at first glance. At least as necessary as having good insurance coverage or being knowledgeable on your homeowner’s policy is having good emergency plans in place. This can be your life and property insurance policy, any other type of protection offered from liability for anything outside your home, including animals, thieves, vandalism, etc.

The problem with not having a physical home-based Emergency plan is that we may need help in those instances. But they will never have the same amount of resources available to them as if they had. They’ll wait until someone has called 911 and saved their life instead of trying to save yours. This is irresponsible, but it also puts you at risk when they need to call an ambulance immediately.

2. Our Homes Are Already Ready For Everything We Do.

Most people assume they are; they think they may already have all kinds of items they want to use when they drive into the garage or start their car. The trouble with this assumption is that these items don’t exist when you enter your home for the first time. Most houses in America are built to take care of cars and the family’s pets. That means no matter what you do, that’s how it’s supposed to work out. And yet, we still expect our homes to act like factories and be ready for everything that comes at it. When I first moved into my apartment, I never even thought about how much stuff I would need. (I wasn’t even aware the kitchen area was there.) So when I bought my current apartment, I didn’t even think about how much I would need. Instead, I expected it to fill up quickly, and I would live there and throw the bathroom towel and forget it existed. Of course… it did! Then I discovered some boxes I hadn’t been using at all.

3. If You Spend Too Much Time Inside Your House, In My Opinion, It Is An Unsafe Place

One thing that makes me very uncomfortable when my husband spends too much time inside his own house is that there are so many things he does that he can potentially put people or items at risk. I don’t mean guns/weapons/etc. No, I mean something that could cause bodily injury, poisoning, fire, and death, just like children, pets, and everything else.

I wish there were fewer things he used in his car, and I want fewer items he used to make him stronger enough to walk around the neighborhood without getting tripped on something. I wish I knew more about what he got himself into before starting this business because of all the bad things he has done. While I wish there weren’t as many distractions in his life as he is already doing because I am his wife, and I love him dearly, he needs the distraction. If he doesn’t get a break-in, every small thing he does becomes a big deal. As a wife, I must protect my husband from danger, so why isn’t it my duty to try and save others?

4. What Happens if an Individual Does Something Badly On Their Property?

I hate to admit it, but I like my husband. He gets along well with everyone else. His job is to ensure I stay safe, so he takes extra precautions to ensure nothing wrong happens while he’s on the road. He drives off-roading on sandhills or down mud roads, and there aren’t specific places to pull over for his night out. These things can happen when I’m not there to hold onto when someone else is.

But I don’t think my husband is evil because he did something wrong once in his past. No, I mean, he made mistakes on his property. He knows the difference between right and wrong. But he also knew the difference between the consequences of taking responsibility for not doing something right or taking responsibility for doing something terrible when they got to me. But he doesn’t do anything wrong anymore. Now, I never know where he went. Sometimes I find out motorbikes killed him on his property, sometimes he has his money taken away from him, and sometimes he does something terrible on the premise that it is meant to offend me, and he wins. The bottom line here is I love my husband. This man has always been there for me. I also like him more than life itself.

5. How Often Do You See Anything About Them?

This one seems pretty obvious, but it is a fact that sadly remains unknown to millions of Americans today. Many people are afraid to ask questions simply because questions could lead to a criminal investigation. All we see about someone who works and owns a home is that they come into their own home armed to the hilt and take care of everyone. Even better, if they own a condo, they own everything within the building. This reality may be accurate, but many people don’t realize about their neighbors that most of them aren’t paying attention or that none of them know each other. They might seem unapproachable to someone who has never lived there because most of them don’t know someone like themselves.
